Soyuz TMA-17M is a 2015 flight to the International Space Station. It transported three members of the Expedition 44 crew to the International Space Station. TMA-17M is the 126th flight of a Soyuz spacecraft; the first having occurred in 1967. The crew consists of a Russian commander accompanied by Japanese and American astronauts. The capsule is to remain docked to the space station for about five months until the scheduled departure of Expedition 45 in December 2015.

The Soyuz TMA-17M patch is inspired on the design of the Apollo 17 patch. The main element in this logo is a portrait of Sergei Korolev, the legendary 'main constructor', who shaped the early years of Soviet cosmonautics. He is depicted watching the Soyuz spacecraft on its celestial voyage, trailing three red lines. They symbolize the three crewmembers, but also represent the three manned craft that Korolev developed; Vostok, Voskhod and Soyuz. Behind the earth, a red sun rises. After the American Apollo element and the Russian Korolev item, the sun is Japan's element in this design. The constellation of Scorpio tops off the patch, with the star Antares highlighted, as this is the callsign for this particular Soyuz mission to the International Space Station.

TMA-15M was the 124th flight of a Soyuz spacecraft, the first flight launching in 1967. The spacecraft landed on 11 November 2013, carrying the same three cosmonauts who were aboard for launch. The crew of Soyuz TMA-09M consisted of Fyodor Yurchikhin of Roskosmos, Karen Nyberg of NASA and Luca Parmitano of the European Space Agency.

Soyuz TMA-07M (Russian: Союз ТМА-07M) was a spaceflight launched to the International Space Station in 2012 which transported three members of the Expedition 34 crew to the station. The Soyuz remained docked to the space station and served as an emergency escape vehicle for the Expedition 35 increment, before returning its crew to Earth in May 2013.

Soyuz TMA-05M is the 114th flight of a Soyuz spacecraft. It was launched on 15 July 2012, transporting three members of the Expedition 32 crew to the International Space Station (ISS). The Soyuz remained docked to the ISS throughout the mission to serve as an emergency escape vehicle. The launch also coincided with the 37th anniversary of the Apollo–Soyuz Test Project. Soyuz TMA-05M successfully returned to Earth on 19 November 2012.

The Soyuz TMA-05M patch design depicts the spacecraft as it enters orbit, lit up by the rising sun. In design, colour and font, the patch is influenced by the Art Deco style. The vertical blue and black bands in the background refer to the similar design of the flag of the Russian Air Force. The three stars symbolize the three crew members. The design of the star is that of a monument on the grounds of the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center just outside Moscow.

Under sunny skies, the roll out began at 7 o'clock in the morning. The rollout was attended by the Soyuz backup crew members, Anton Shkaplerov, Samantha Cristoforetti and Terry Virts. The Soyuz TMA-13M prime crew was not at the event, since it is considered to bring bad luck. Once the 49.5 meter tall Soyuz FG rocket was erected in its vertical launch position, the launcher was enclosed by its service structure, to provide protection and access platforms for workers.

The cosmonaut is shown floating over a blue Earth, with a departing Soyuz launch vehicle climbing towards the stars. The constellation depicted is Cepheus; this is the callsign chosen by the spacecraft commander. Banners enclosing the scene show the spacecraft designation, crew names and their national flags.

Eagle One Aerospace produced an exclusive set of Project Mercury crew patches in the early 90's. 5 sets were produced and mounted on a poster, another 25-50 were produced as an unmounted set. Each patch has the hallmark initials of their respective crewman. They faithfully render the capsule artwork and are often considered to be the proper mercury crew patch as opposed to the common, later souvenir patches from A-B Emblem and others. 

This is version of the MA-7 patch was produced in 2013 by Spacepatches.nl in order to correct the coloration and detail of the original Eagle One Aerospace version.

This patch was worn on EVA 36 by Oleg Kotov and Sergey Ryazanskiy where they passed a Sochi 2014 Olympic torch.
