Mir 24, cancelled mission patch

This is one of the least known Mir mission patches. At the time it was designed, it was expected that
cosmonauts Anatoly Yakovlevich Solovyev (commander) and Pavel Vladimirovich Vinogradov
(engineer) as well as French researcher Leopold Eyharts would be launched to the Russian space
station Mir on August 5, 1997. Due to arrive at the orbital outpost two days days later, they were to be
welcomed by the Mir-23 crew: Vasily Tsibliev, Alexander Lazutkin and NASA-astronaut Michael
Foale.
